We have had such a busy busy summer - baseball and softball early this summer and then the rest of this summer -- swim team! Griffin and Delaney both decided to try it this year and they loved it -- even the everyday a.m. practices.
Delaney swam backstroke mainly, and freestyle a few times at meets and she did super. Some 3rd and 4th place ribbons and a trip to the finals in her age group in backstroke! Yay for her!!! At the awards banquet she got a trophy for "Most Improved" - very proud of herself (it totally surprised me, when I realized they were talking about her!!!).
Griffin swam 4 events at almost every meet and ended the season with 16 1st place ribbons and he swam three events in the Finals, finishing 1st, 4th and 5th! Wow, huh?!? He also got a special trophy at awards night for "110% effort" (another surprise when I again realized they were talking about one of my kids!!). So here's their pics -- I am so proud of them.
And keep an eye out for them in 12 years at the Olympics, they are both planning on being there. We had a great time watching Michael Phelps, perfect timing with their interest in swimming!
